BRONX CHEERLEADER BACK IN ACTION @ "IN THE SOIL"
Wednesday, 11 March 2009
Bronx Cheerleader will be performing live on Tuesday April 21st @ 11:30 pm at The Mansion House as part of In The Soil: Niagara's Homegrown Arts Festival. The occasion will mark the band's first show in two and a half years as they prepare to release the follow-up to their well-received 2005 debut album this fall. The festival jury has chosen 60 local artists to showcase Niagara’s original creative talents in a weeklong line up. From classic Celtic music to contemporary jazz, from barbershop standards to original indie folk ballads and from alternative theatre to visual arts, this first annual festival will be sure to leave audiences asking, Is there something in the Soil? In the Soil will take place during the week of April 17 – 24, 2009 and features specially programmed events throughout downtown in venues such as The Merchant Ale House, Stella’s, The Mansion House, Pan Café, The Niagara Artists’ Centre, Strega Café and the St. Catharines Library. The event wraps up with a special ‘jury’s pick’ showcase at Brock’s Centre for the Arts on April 23, 2009 with a mix of music, dance and theatrical performances.
